The U.S. Small Business Administration has released a 1-page form which makes it simpler to request forgiveness of Paycheck Protection Program loans. The form is also updated with new forms that are in line with the latest stimulus law.

The COVID-19 aid package Congress approved last month renewed the PPP with $284 billion of funds for small businesses that want forgivable loans to help them deal with the financial fallout of the coronavirus epidemic. The package also mandated the SBA to issue streamlined forms within 24 hours after the legislation was approved by the lawmaker to streamline the application process for forgiveness. The legislation also contained conditions that aim to increase the number of loans from community banks, particularly for minority-owned businesses that were unable to obtain loans in the past.
