The U.S. Small Business Administration has issued a one-page form that simplifies the application for forgiveness of Paycheck Protection Program loans. The form also contains newly updated forms to comply with the current stimulus legislation.

Congress approved the COVID-19 relief package last month, which included $284 billion of financing for small-scale businesses who needed loans. The funds were used to offset the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic. The law requires that the SBA issue simplified forms within 24 hours of the signing into law. This is to facilitate the application for forgiveness. It also included conditions that would encourage community banks to make more loans particularly to minority-owned businesses that had difficulty getting loans in the past.
