The U.S. Small Business Administration has issued a one-page form that makes it easier to apply for forgiveness of Paycheck Protection Program loans. The form also contains newly updated forms to comply with the latest stimulus legislation.

Congress approved the COVID-19 relief package in the month of March and provided $284 billion of funding to small businesses that needed loans. The funds were used to mitigate the economic effects of the coronavirus outbreak. The legislation required that the SBA provide simplified forms within 24 hours of the legislation’s signing into law. This is to make it easier to apply for forgiveness. It also included conditions that would encourage banks in the community to lend more specifically to minority-owned companies who had a difficult time getting loans last year.
