The U.S. Small Business Administration has released a single-page form designed to make it easier for applicants to complete the application process for forgiveness of Paycheck Protection Program loans, as well as newly updated and revised forms that meet the requirements of the most recent stimulus legislation.

Congress approved the COVID-19 relief package in the month of March that provided $284 billion of funding to small businesses that needed loans. The money was intended to offset the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic. The package also mandated the SBA to issue simplified forms within 24 days of the legislation being adopted to make the application process for forgiveness. It also included conditions meant to encourage more loans from community banks, especially for minority-owned businesses who had trouble getting loans in the past.
