The U.S. Small Business Administration has released a 1-page form that simplifies the application for forgiveness of Paycheck Protection Program loans. The form also contains newly updated forms that comply with the current stimulus law.

The COVID-19 relief plan that Congress adopted last month revived the PPP with $284 billion in financing for small-scale businesses looking for forgiveness loans to help them to deal with the effects of economic collapse of the coronavirus epidemic. The legislation required that the SBA issue simplified forms within the first 24 hours after the bill’s passage into law. This was done to make it easier to apply for forgiveness. The legislation also contained conditions that encourage community banks to make more loans specifically to minority-owned companies who were unable to obtain loans last year.
