The U.S. Small Business Administration has issued a one-page form that simplifies the application for the cancellation of Paycheck Protection Program loans. The form also contains newly updated forms that comply with the current stimulus law.

Congress approved the COVID-19 relief package in the month of March that included $284 billion of financing to small businesses that needed loans. The funds were used to offset the economic impact of the coronavirus outbreak. The legislation required that the SBA provide simplified forms within the first 24 hours of the legislation’s signing into law. This was to simplify the process of applying for forgiveness. Additionally, it included conditions to encourage community banks to make more loans particularly to minority-owned businesses who had a difficult time getting loans last year.
