The U.S. Small Business Administration released a one-page form that aims to simplify the process of applying to forgive Paycheck Protection Program loans, along with newly updated and revised forms that conform to the requirements of the most recent stimulus legislation.

The COVID-19 aid package Congress adopted last month revived the PPP with $284 billion of funds for small businesses that want forgivable loans to help them to deal with the effects of economic collapse of the coronavirus epidemic. The package also mandated the SBA to issue simplified forms within 24 hours of the legislation being signed into law to simplify the process of applying for forgiveness. The legislation also contained conditions that aim to increase the number of bank loans by community banks, particularly for minority-owned companies that struggled to get loans in the past.
