The U.S. Small Business Administration issued a one-page application form that aims to simplify the application process for the forgiveness of Paycheck Protection Program loans, as well as newly updated and revised forms that conform to the requirements of the latest stimulus legislation.

Congress approved the COVID-19 relief plan last month, which provided $284 billion of funding to small businesses in need of loans. The funds were used to mitigate the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic. It included a requirement for the SBA to issue streamlined forms within 24 hours of the bill being adopted to make the application process for forgiveness, along with conditions meant to encourage more loans from community banks, particularly for minority-owned businesses that struggled to get loans last year.
