How To File For Student Loan Forgiveness

The U.S. Small Business Administration has released a 1-page form that makes it easier to apply for forgiveness of Paycheck Protection Program loans. The form also contains newly updated forms to comply with the most recent stimulus law.

Congress approved the COVID-19 relief package last month and offered $284 billion in funding to small businesses that needed loans. The funds were used to offset the economic impact of the coronavirus epidemic. It also included a requirement that the SBA to issue streamlined forms within 24 days after the legislation was approved by the lawmaker to streamline the application process for forgiveness. It also included conditions that aim to increase the number of loans from community banks, specifically for minority-owned businesses who struggled to get loans last year.
