The U.S. Small Business Administration has released a 1-page form that simplifies the application for the cancellation of Paycheck Protection Program loans. The form is also updated with new forms that comply with the latest stimulus legislation.

The COVID-19 relief plan that Congress adopted last month revived the PPP with $284 billion of funding for small businesses seeking forgiveness loans to help them cope with the economic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic. It included a requirement for the SBA to issue streamlined forms within 24 days of the legislation being signed into law to simplify the process of applying for forgiveness, along with conditions that aim to increase the number of loans from community banks, especially for minority-owned businesses that had trouble getting loans in the past.
