Georgia Loan Forgiveness Program

The U.S. Small Business Administration has released a single-page form that aims to simplify the process of applying for forgiveness of Paycheck Protection Program loans, along with newly updated and revised forms to comply with the latest stimulus legislation.

Congress approved the COVID-19 relief plan last month that offered $284 billion in funding for small-scale businesses who needed loans. The funds were used to reduce the economic burden of the coronavirus pandemic. The law required that the SBA issue simplified forms within 24 hours of the signing into law. This is to simplify the process of applying for forgiveness. The legislation also contained conditions to encourage banks in the community to lend more particularly to minority-owned businesses who had a difficult time getting loans last year.
