The U.S. Small Business Administration has issued a one-page form that simplifies the application for the cancellation of Paycheck Protection Program loans. The form is also updated with new forms that comply with the latest stimulus legislation.

Congress approved the COVID-19 relief package in the month of March, which offered $284 billion in funding to small businesses that needed loans. The funds were used to offset the economic impact of the coronavirus outbreak. It also included a requirement that the SBA to issue simplified forms within the first 24 hours after the legislation was approved by the lawmaker to streamline the process of applying for forgiveness. The legislation also contained conditions that aim to increase the number of bank loans by community banks, especially for minority-owned businesses that had trouble getting loans last year.
