The U.S. Small Business Administration has released a 1-page form which makes it simpler to request forgiveness of Paycheck Protection Program loans. The form also contains newly updated forms to comply with the latest stimulus legislation.

Congress approved the COVID-19 relief plan last month that offered $284 billion in funding to small businesses that needed loans. This money was used to reduce the economic burden of the coronavirus epidemic. The legislation required that the SBA provide simplified forms within 24 hours of the legislation’s signing into law. This was done to facilitate the application for forgiveness. Additionally, it included conditions that encourage community banks to lend more particularly to minority-owned businesses who were unable to obtain loans last year.
