Application For Federal Loan Forgiveness

The U.S. Small Business Administration has released a single-page form aimed at simplifying the process of applying for forgiveness of Paycheck Protection Program loans, as well as newly updated and revised forms to comply with the latest stimulus legislation.

The COVID-19 aid package Congress adopted last month revived the PPP with $284 billion of funds for small businesses that want forgiven loans to help to deal with the effects of economic collapse from the coronavirus outbreak. The law required that the SBA release simplified forms within 24 hours of the legislation’s signing into law. This was to simplify the process of applying for forgiveness. Additionally, it included conditions to encourage banks in the community to lend more particularly to minority-owned businesses that had difficulty getting loans in the past.
