Americorps Student Loan Forgiveness

The U.S. Small Business Administration released a one-page form designed to make it easier for applicants to complete the process of applying for the forgiveness of Paycheck Protection Program loans, as well as newly updated and revised forms to comply with the latest stimulus legislation.

The COVID-19 relief plan that Congress approved last month renewed the PPP with $284 billion of financing for small-scale businesses looking for forgiven loans to help cope with the economic fallout of the coronavirus epidemic. The law required that the SBA release simplified forms within 24 hours of the signing into law. This is to simplify the process of applying for forgiveness. It also included conditions that encourage banks in the community to lend more particularly to minority-owned businesses that had difficulty getting loans in the past.
